In this podcast, RR host Stewart Acuff talks Resistance wih longtime organizer and playwright Gene Bruskin. Gene was a key leader in an historic campaign where on December 11, 2008, forty-six hundred mostly black and Latino Smithfield Foods slaughterhouse workers in Tar Heel, North Carolina voted to join the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW). They ratified their first union contract the following July, after a sixteen-year fight against one of the most insidious anti-union employer campaigns in recent decades.
